ABIM urges the government to be more open and responsive in order to address valid criticism before deciding on the final outcome concerning the TPPA. Now is the time and era where the idea that government knows best is over. Democracy means that the people themselves must decide on the national economic direction and on this issue of the TPPA the people bear the risks wholly.
ABIM demands that the government be transparent and forthcoming by revealing the details of the agreement in order to really convince the nation of a prosperous future and to guarantee national interests are secured by the TPPA.
The assurances by advocates of the TPPA should not remain merely as general pledges or simply vague promises offered. ABIM appeals to all those concerned to stand together united and on a common platform to fight and voice out for the masses, to highlight the worries and concerns of the negative consequences of the TPPA and to influence the government before the TTPA’s final ratification.
